This course covers making inferences, defining difficult vocabulary, and comprehension of fiction and nonfiction materials. Students will focus on narrative writing, creating interesting stories, and revising, editing, and completing a final draft of an original fictional piece. They will also work through multiple informational resources to complete presentations using multimedia platforms. Students will learn about pollution by reading articles such as “Tiny Plastic, Big Problem” and “Plastic Pollution.” Students will also research a famous person and complete a biography using the information they gather through their own research.
