Spanish 1B is the second semester of Spanish. You will build upon what you have learned in Spanish 1A. You will add to your knowledge of vocabulary and grammar and you will continue to learn about Hispanic culture.
Unit Titles:

Unit 1: El Tiempo Libre – In this unit, you’re going to learn how to talk about a variety of activities that you do in your free time. You will also learn how to say which of those activities you like to do and which ones you don’t like to do.

Unit 2: Los Deportes – In this lesson, you’re going to learn how to talk about sports as well as what you and your family are going to do this weekend.

Unit 3: La Comida – In this lesson, you’re going to learn to talk about doing things with others. You’re also going to learn how to talk about food.

Unit 4: La Salud – In this unit, you’re going to learn how to talk about what your cafeteria serves and how to talk about when you eat. You will also learn how to talk about the different food groups and what you should (not) eat in order to stay healthy.

Unit 5: Las Compras – In this unit, you’re going to learn how to order in a restaurant and how to talk about going shopping in a supermarket.

Unit 6: La Ropa – In this unit, you’re going to learn how to talk about what you wear in different seasons and weather and you will also learn how to make purchases and negotiate a price while shopping.

Unit 7: La Ciudad – In this lesson, you’re going to learn to talk about different places in your community and different types of transportation.

Unit 8: Las Vacaciones – In this lesson, you’re going to learn how to talk about what you (and other people) are doing while on vacation. You will also learn to talk about how you prepare for travel.

Prerequisites: Spanish 1A

Compatibility: This course is Chromebook compatible.

Required textbooks and resources:
There is no textbook required for this class. All required resources are available through the online course.
Speakers/earphones and a microphone are required to participate in our voice assignments and to communicate online in Spanish with your classmates. Each unit contains graphics and sound.
