The Dual Credit Chemistry course is a two semester course equivalent to a college level chemistry course. Students enrolled in the Dual Credit course will earn college credits from College of Eastern Idaho. Students must enroll in both DC Chem A and DC Chem B to earn credit from CEI.
This is an introductory chemistry course that helps prepare students to understand how chemistry impacts the world around us. Topics can include: An introduction to scientific thought, the importance of measurement systems, the organization of matter, chemical bonding, the nature of carbon/air/water, chemical reactions, acids/bases, as well as others. This is a dual credit class for non-science majors. This class will not count towards a STEM degree. It is intended for students wanting to register for university credit.This is a GEM: Scientific Way of Knowing course.
 
 Idaho High School Lab Science Requirement: This course fulfills the high school lab science requirement by the State of Idaho in that there are weekly opportunities to manipulate equipment, materials, specimens or develop skills in observation and analysis and discover, demonstrate, illustrate or test scientific principles or concepts.
