This course focuses mostly on nonfiction readings such as autobiographies, letters, seminal US documents as well as some fiction. Students will be reading To Kill A Mockingbird, which is more of a historical fiction piece the way it weaves in actual events during that time period. The writing assignments throughout this course focus mostly on analysis skills through informative writing. The students will learn how to write analysis essays for other academic disciplines.
