This course examines the varied meanings of language through poetry, mythology, writing, and informational texts. Students will learn to read, explore, discuss, analyze, and synthesize information from different cultural and historical perspectives, as well as produce expository and technical writing. The students will utilize the Integrated English materials from NROC (creator of EdReady) to learn how to identify the main idea of texts and to summarize and respond to informative texts. Some of the major topics include “The Odyssey,” grammar, and informative writing.
