Exploring Computer Science - Idaho Digital Learning Alliance

This course covers the foundation for several CTE Career Pathways within Information Systems and Technology. Students will learn a basic understanding of What a Computer is as well as Hardware, Software, Troubleshooting, Networks, and the Internet. They will develop concepts that include basic HTML/Web Design, an introduction to Programming, Video Game Design, and Mobile App Development. It also covers Career Exploration and prepares students for greater opportunities in Computer Science.

This course serves as a prerequisite to all high school CS and IT pathways. It covers similar content to Computer Science Discoveries, so students may opt for a more advanced computer science course if Computer Science Discoveries has already been taken, or it could serve as another introduction to computer science that will scaffold their understanding of IT and CS concepts.
