This course covers a variety of fascinating STEM careers that require skills in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Throughout this course, students will not only learn about different STEM career paths but also learn STEM-specific skills that will help them get a better idea of the types of STEM careers they might enjoy. Students will have the opportunity to complete a variety of STEM-based projects, such as building the tallest paper tower, creating a computer game using code, planning and playing a game based on probability, and more. Towards the end of this course, students will create a STEM-focused career pathway plan that will help them start planning the courses and extracurriculars that want to pursue in high school and beyond. This course meets the First Steps standards and qualifies as a middle school career exploration course.
