This course emphasizes the basic principles of effective communication and public speaking skills. Students will present speeches in two different genres (informative and persuasive). Assignments and activities will focus on Idaho Core standards and emphasize listening, speaking, viewing, collaborating, comprehending, presenting, and attaining knowledge and ideas. This course is a Quality Matters certified online course. **Both the Informative and Persuasive Speech presentations are required in order for students to be eligible to pass the course, regardless of their overall grade.
