World History A – High School

This course covers early hunter-gatherer communities during the Paleolithic Age to the
Agrarian communities in the New Paleolithic Age. Students will learn about Ancient
River Valley Civilizations and their achievements that helped to develop the civilized
world. They will learn about the social, economical, and political characteristics in
ancient Greece, Rome, the Byzantine Empire, early African and Mesoamerican
civilizations. They will evaluate the role of the Catholic Church during the Middle Ages
and determine the achievements of the Renaissance Era in order to explain how
