Each fall, IDLA hosts the Secondary Site Coordinator (SC) Conference, an event dedicated to connecting with our partners who play such an important role in supporting students. We took the conference on the road, hosting six in-person events across Idaho. By bringing the conference directly to regional communities, we showed that professional growth can happen anytime and in any place.
The conference was filled with energy and excitement as site coordinators gathered to collaborate, learn, and celebrate their shared impact. Site Coordinators appreciated the thoughtful touches that the District Programs team provided, from giveaways and swag to engaging sessions that set a positive tone for each day. The variety built into the schedule ensured that everyone had opportunities to explore new topics, collaborate with peers, and hear from a diverse range of IDLA staff members representing multiple departments and perspectives.
With over 225 site coordinators in attendance, representing 161 schools across the state, the conference truly reflected the reach and collaboration that make IDLA special. One of the highlights was the excitement around IDLA’s new courses, with coordinators eager to learn about what’s ahead for students. Interactive discussions on school policy, data use, and engagement ideas kept the focus on practical insights while encouraging participation. Across all six conferences, coordinators valued the chance to share their experiences, exchange ideas, and strengthen connections with colleagues who understand the unique challenges of their role.
The positive feedback from attendees spoke volumes about the impact of the event. One coordinator shared, “This is the best educator conference I’ve attended! So fun and very helpful!” Another expressed appreciation for the collaboration and support, saying, “Thanks for all you do at IDLA. Idaho is lucky to have this service for our students!”
Perhaps the most powerful takeaway was the reminder that learning doesn’t just happen in classrooms; it also happens when educators come together to learn from each other. Whether comparing strategies, asking questions, or discovering new tools, coordinators left with practical takeaways they can use to support students more effectively.
As we look ahead, we’re grateful for the dedication of our site coordinators. Their partnership makes it possible for students to access flexible learning opportunities everywhere, and this year’s SC Conference once again showed the power of what can happen when we learn and grow together.
