At Idaho Digital Learning Alliance (IDLA), we take online learning seriously. Currently, forty of our classes are Quality Matters (QM) certified, which means they meet rigorous national standards for excellent online course design, and we are working to increase the number of certifications. QM is a trusted program used by schools and universities all over the country to make sure online courses are clear, well-organized, and designed to help students learn. When a course earns QM certification, it shows that outside experts measured it against research-based standards and approved it.
But we are not stopping there. Our Content Team members are working toward their own QM reviewer certifications. These are special trainings where educators learn how to judge online course quality using the official QM Rubric. A QM-certified reviewer knows how to read a course like a learner would and give feedback based on proven best practices. This is a big step beyond just making great courses, it means our team will help shape quality online courses everywhere.
This work places IDLA at the top of the national online learning realm. Not every online school has QM certification, and even fewer have staff trained to be QM reviewers. Having reviewers on our team shows that we not only meet quality standards, but that we help others reach those standards too. It reflects our commitment to excellence and continuous improvement in everything we do.
