At IDLA, our courses are built from the ground up by our own Content Development Team. This means we write all of our curriculum in-house instead of buying lessons from outside vendors. Every course is carefully designed by educators who understand Idaho students, Idaho schools, and Idaho standards. This hands-on approach allows us to create learning experiences that are thoughtful, relevant, and built with purpose.

One important benefit of writing our own curriculum is that taxpayer dollars stay in Idaho. When schools rely on large curriculum vendors, money often leaves the state. At IDLA, those funds support local educators and professionals who live and work here. This helps strengthen our state’s education system while keeping resources where they matter most.

Writing our own courses also ensures that Idaho state standards are fully met. Our Content Team works closely with these standards throughout the development process. Because we are not adapting pre-made lessons, we can align instruction directly to what Idaho students are expected to learn. This results in courses that are accurate, up to date, and built specifically for our state’s needs.

Another major advantage is quality control. Since the curriculum is created by our team, we oversee every part of the course from start to finish. We can review lessons, improve clarity, update materials, and respond quickly to feedback. This level of control helps us maintain consistency and high expectations across all IDLA courses.

“I am proud of the creativity and dedication our team brings to every lesson. By prioritizing both quality and innovation, they constantly work to make lessons engaging and relevant, ensuring that Idaho students receive the world-class education they deserve,” says Jolene Del Re, IDLA’s Curriculum Director.

By developing our own curriculum, IDLA shows a strong commitment to quality, responsibility, and local investment. Our students benefit from courses designed with care, our educators benefit from meaningful work, and Idaho benefits from an education system that keeps both learning and resources close to home.
