At Idaho Digital Learning Alliance (IDLA), we believe learning doesn’t stop when you leave the classroom. That’s why our Everyone Can Create with iPad class is designed to spark creativity anywhere, whether that’s at a desk, in your backyard, or even out in the great outdoors. Students in this course explore video, photography, music, and drawing projects using the iPad. From creating a logo that shows off their unique personality to producing original music or digital photography, students discover just how powerful their creativity can be.
But the best part? Students who finish the course get a chance to bring their skills to life at IDLA’s free summer Everyone Can Create Camp. This camp, held every July, combines the tools of technology with the beauty of Idaho’s own Ponderosa State Park at the University of Idaho MOSS. Picture this: instead of sitting in a classroom, students are filming videos under tall pines, capturing close-up shots of wildflowers, or sketching inspiration from mountain views—all with the same iPads they used during the course.
The camp shows what “learning from anywhere” really means. Students swap fluorescent lights for sunshine and discover how creativity shines even brighter outside. A nature trail becomes the backdrop for a short film. A rushing stream inspires a soundtrack recorded in GarageBand. A sunset provides the perfect subject for digital photography. At ECC Camp, the boundaries between schoolwork and adventure disappear, leaving only discovery, imagination, and fun.
And it’s not just about making art—it’s about making memories. Students collaborate with peers who share their passion for creating, build confidence in their skills, and learn how to see the world differently. The experience proves that creativity doesn’t need a classroom; it just needs curiosity and the right tools. With an iPad in hand and nature all around, learning becomes limitless.IDLA’s ECC Camp is more than just a summer program. It’s a celebration of what happens when students take their creativity outside and put it into action. With the skills from Everyone Can Create with iPad, they discover that learning and creativity can happen anywhere and everywhere.
