The Idaho Digital Learning Alliance (IDLA) is proud to announce its selection by OpenAI as one of the inaugural national participants helping shape the newly released ChatGPT for Teachers platform. IDLA is the only online learning program chosen for this first cohort, representing Idaho on a national stage as educators refine and enhance the tool through real-world feedback.

“Preparing students for an AI‑powered workforce starts with empowering teachers,” said Ryan Gravette, IDLA Director of Technology. “With OpenAI’s K-12 Education Edition, our educators can safely utilize advanced models to address the unique needs of each student and create more time for meaningful connections, which are core to the educational experience.”

OpenAI launched ChatGPT for Teachers, a free, secure AI workspace designed specifically for K–12 educators, as announced on OpenAI’s website (“ChatGPT for Teachers,” OpenAI, 2025). The platform provides tailored lesson planning support, collaboration spaces, and integrations with widely used tools, all while meeting stringent privacy and compliance standards.

“We’re honored to contribute Idaho’s voice to this important national effort,” said Jeff Simmons, Superintendent at IDLA. “As the only online program selected, IDLA brings a unique perspective on virtual instruction, accessibility, and statewide impact.”

As part of the cohort, IDLA educators will test key features, provide structured feedback, and help OpenAI refine how the platform supports online and blended learning environments. IDLA will also share best practices with Idaho educators to help educators responsibly integrate AI into teaching and learning.
